David McGregor is a master craftsman at Selkirk Glass, a company that specializes in handcrafted paperweights. He is a very personable fellow, a characteristic obviously recognized by his employer, since he usually works in the area where visitors are allowed to see production firsthand. He carefully explains each step of the paperweight-making process. It takes David about 20 minutes to make a paperweight, which must cool down gradually in a kiln for 24 hours to avoid cracking. He is a highly-skilled craftsman and a jolly nice fellow as well.
